Frequently Asked Questions
Are my images uploaded to a server?+
No. All image processing happens entirely in your browser using WebAssembly. Your images never leave your device — nothing is uploaded to any server.
Does compression reduce image quality?+
Lossy formats (JPEG, WebP, AVIF) reduce quality slightly to achieve smaller file sizes. Use the quality slider to find the right balance — higher values preserve more detail. PNG is lossless and preserves full quality.
Which format should I choose — JPEG, PNG, WebP, or AVIF?+
WebP offers the best balance of quality and size for most use cases. JPEG is widely compatible. PNG is ideal for images with transparency or text. AVIF provides the best compression but has limited browser support.
What happens to EXIF metadata?+
By default, EXIF data (camera info, GPS, date) is stripped during compression. Enable 'Preserve metadata' to keep it — this option is available when outputting to JPEG format.
What are the file size and count limits?+
You can process up to 10 images at once, with each file up to 50 MB. Supported input formats are JPEG, PNG, WebP, and AVIF.
